Petratto has launched an entry-level semi-automatic folding and gluing machine suitable for the production of short run packaging.
The Italian manufacturer, whose equipment is distributed in the UK by Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS), said the Petratto Metro Startup has a compact footprint and operates at speeds up to 200m/min.
Suitable for the production of cartons, boxes and sleeves, the machine supports a maximum format of 780x780mm and can handle stocks up to 400gsm.
It can also be upgraded at a later date to a Petratto Metro Mini or a complete Petratto Metro 78 model.
“This entry-level, low-cost folding and gluing solution is perfectly positioned to help printers diversify and enter new markets,” said IFS managing director Eric Keane.
“Operations can cost-effectively explore new opportunities with the confidence of knowing they can scale up operations as and when their business grows.”
The Petratto Metro Startup is commercially available with immediate effect and pricing starts from £36,000, subject to specification.
